How to Create an Application Password for WordPress

 

Pre-requisites

  1. You must have https enabled on your Wordpress website (see https://wordpress.org/support/article/https-for-wordpress/ )

 

Step 1: Create a new user account for BlabberJax (optional, strongly encouraged)

  1. In your WordPress admin panel, navigate to Users > Add New User

  2. Create a new user account and give it the role Editor

  3. Click Add New User

  4. Save this username & password for your own records.

 

Step 2: Create the Application Password

  1. In your WordPress admin panel, navigate to Users > Add New User

  2. Click Edit on the user which you would like to create the application password for (eg. in Step 1, the blabberjax user account)

  3. Scroll to the very bottom of the User Profile to a section called “Application Passwords”

  4. Enter a name for the Application Password, like “BlabberJax Scheduler” and then click on “Add New Application Password”

  5. You should see a screen similar to the following

  6. Save this application password in a secure location. This code will need to be added to your project in BlabberJax Content Scheduler (https://app.blabberjax.com ).

 

Step 3: Add the Application Password to BlabberJax Content Scheduler

  1. Login to BlabberJax Content Scheduler at https://app.blabberjax.com/

  2. Navigate to Project Settings

  3. Click Next to skip the Company and Project settings.

  4. On the Connect to Your CMS page enter the Application Password which you created in Step 2 into the Application Password textbox.
